Echocardiogram
Also known as a cardiac ultrasound, this is a test that uses high frequency sound waves to create an image of the heart as well as the surrounding tissue.

Emboli
Any material, usually a blood clot, (although it can be fat or plaque) that travels through the circulatory system and can get lodged in a vessel thus obstructing flow.

Embolic Events
An event that is the consequence of decreased blood flow as a result of an emboli.

Endarterectomy
An operation to clean out an artery, often compared to a roto-rooter procedure in plumbing.

Endoscope
A thin, fiber optic tube with a light and lens, used to examine the interior of organs or blood vessels.
