CT Guided Fine Needle Aspiration Biopsy: this is the most common way to evaluate possible cancers. The CT scan takes a very detailed picture of a patient's suspected cancer, which means that a very thin needle can be used to remove a sample of the tissue from a precise area. This gives doctors the most information without resorting to a more invasive surgery (thoracotomy) and direct biopsy.
